On Tuesday, Nov. 6, area voters will go to the polls — between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. — to elect the following:
— In Lambertville — A mayor. Incumbent Democrat David M. Del Vecchio, of York Street, is seeking another three-year term as mayor — a post he has held since January 1992. He is running unopposed.
— In Stockton, where there are two open seats (three-year terms) on Borough Council, two incumbents are seeking re-election and are running unopposed. They are Democrat Aaron Lipsen, of Ferry Street, and Republican Nic Messina, of Church Street.
Stockton (now part of the state’s 16th Legislative District) has a NJ General Assembly race. Republican Donna Simon (incumbent, who replaced the late Peter Biondi) will face Democrat Marie Corfield, of Flemington, The Nov. 6 winner will finish the remainder of Mr. Biondi’s term.
— In West Amwell, one seat (three-year term) on the Township Committee will be filled. Incumbent Republican George A. Fisher, of Brunswick Pike, is seeking re-election and is running unopposed. He is serving this year as mayor.
— Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders (two three-year terms; vote for two). Candidates are: Republicans — Matthew Holt, of Clinton, and John King, of Flemington; Democrats — Andrea M. Bonette, of Ridge Road (Hopewell mailing address), and Robert Darmstadt, of Califon.
— U.S House of Representatives — 7th Congressional District (all of Hunterdon County now falls within this district). The Nov. 6 winner will take office in January 2013. Running for the one two-year term are: Two-term Republican Congressman Leonard Lance, of Clinton Township; Democrat Upendra J. Chivukula, of Franklin Township (Somerset); Dennis Breen, Independent; and Patrick McKnight, Libertarian.
— U.S. Senate (vote for one for six-year term). Candidates are: Joe Kyrillos (Republican), of Middletown; incumbent Democrat Robert Menendez, of Newark; Robert “Turk” Turkavage (Responsibility Fairness Integrity), of Cranford; Ken Wolski (Green Party), of Trenton; Eugene Martin Lavergne, of West Long Branch; J. David Dranikoff (Totally Independent Candidate), of Livingston; Inder “Andy” Soni (America First), of Edison; Gwen Diakos (Jersey Strong Independents), of Tinton Falls; Gregory Pason (Socialist Party USA), of Montclair; Kenneth R. Kaplan (Libertarian Party), of Parsippany; and Daryl Mikell Brooks (Reform Nation), of Trenton.
— U.S. President (vote for one for four-year term). Candidates are: Republican Mitt Romney (and Paul Ryan), of Belmont, Massachusetts; incumbent Democrat Barack Obama (and Joe Biden), of Chicago, Illinois; Virgil Goode (and Jim Clymer), Constitution Party, of Rocky Mount, Virginia; Jill Stein (and Cheri Honkala), Green Party, of Lexington, Massachusetts; Merlin Miller (and Harry Bertram), American Third Position, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Jeff Boss (and Bob Pasternak), NSA Did 911, of Guttenberg, New Jersey; Peta Lindsay (and Yari Osorio), Socialism and Liberation, of Washington, D.C.; Ross C. (Rocky) Anderson (and Luis J. Rodriguez), NJ Justice Party, of Salt Lake City, Utah; James Harris (and Maura DeLuca), Socialist Workers Party, of Los Angeles, California; and Gary Johnson (and James P. Gray), Libertarian Party, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
IN ADDITION, and for the first time, local voters will pick school board members for the four local Boards of Education on Nov. 6. Up until now, elections have been held in April.
— South Hunterdon Regional High School board:
For Lambertville (three-year term, vote for two) — David K. Burd, of Brunswick Avenue; and Karen Conlon, of North Union Street.
For Stockton (one-year unexpired term, vote for one) — David L. Pasicznyk, of Church Street.
For West Amwell Township (a two-year unexpired term, vote for one) —Maura Buckenberger, of Terrell Road; and for a three-year term (vote for one) —Boyd Hartpence, of Hunter Road.
— Lambertville Public School board — three three-year terms (vote for three): Grant William Miller, of Clinton Street; Derek Roseman, of Delevan Street; and John Woznicki, of Jean Street.
— Stockton Borough School board — two three-year terms (vote for two): Diane Walker-Torkelson, of Risler Street; and James D. Gallagher, of South. Main Street,
— West Amwell Township Elementary School board — One two-year unexpired term (vote for one), Leila Rice, of Williamson Lane; three three-year terms (vote for three) — John B. Dupuis, of Hewitt Road; Peter Gasparro, of Surrey Lane; and Andrea Albanese Little, of Lake View Road.
