Veterans Day ceremony: The Veterans of Foreign War Post 2290 will hold a memorial service for veterans at the post hall at 600 Washington Ave. A mass at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church will be followed by a ceremony at 10 at the post hall. A breakfast will follow. Commander Fred Gorbatuk said the ceremony is in conjunction with the Ladies Auxiliary of 2290.

Basket auction: Doors open at 6 p.m., with auction at 7:30, for the Manville Youth Athletic League event at the VFW at 600 Washington Ave. Ski and golf packages, Rutgers football tickets, dinner certificates, comedy club tickets, entertainment venues, and toy, pet and baby baskets. The event helps fund baseball, football and cheerleading programs for ages 5-14 in the borough. Money goes to uniforms and equipment and to help defray expenses. $15 admission.
