CENTRAL JERSEY: Notre Dame HS presents ‘As You Like’ Nov. 8-10

Robbinsville, Cream Ridge, Millstone students performing

   LAWRENCEVILLE — The Notre Dame Performing Arts Department opens its fall production tonight (Nov. 8) of “As You Like It,”which includes original music by two students inspired by Shakespeare’s original lyrics.
   The show is open to the community and will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 through Nov. 10 at the Notre Dame Backstage Theater. There will also be a special 2 p.m. Saturday matinee on Nov. 10.
   The directors of this production are Ed Patton and Steve Lobis, and the technical director is Dave Chebra.
   ”Doing Shakespeare is challenging for students, but Ed and I are very pleased with their progress,” Mr. Lobis said. “The actors are working very hard.”
   Mr. Patton said the focus of the production is strictly on the actors with minimal costumes and set.
   Local students performing in “As You Like It” include: Emily Schladebeck, of Cream Ridge; John Jones, of Cream Ridge; Kathryn Corso, of Millstone; and Meaghan Lukacs, of Robbinsville.
