In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce has established a Business Relief Fund to assist local Businesses that have been impacted. The goal is to have money available to donate to businesses that have had damages that are not covered by insurance.
” Your help in this effort is very much appreciated. Please note that your donation may not be taken as a charitable expense.,” a spokesman said.

Disaster Assistance — Gov. Chris Christie announced on Nov. 4 that the federal government has extended public assistance to all 21 counties in New Jersey as a result of the impact of Hurricane Sandy. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is now accepting applications from residents and business owners. Register online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired.
Loans — For assistance with business loans, contact the New Jersey Economic Development Authority at (609) 777-4898, or contact your bank. If you have any problems or issues, call the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce at (609) 989-7888.
Cleanup — State Senate President Steve Sweeney has partnered with the New Jersey State Building and Construction Trades Council to implement a hotline that homeowners and business owners impacted by Hurricane Sandy can call to request clean-up assistance from qualified tradesmen and women. That telephone number is (732) 499-0100.
