WEST AMWELL — A part-time patrolman for the West Amwell Township police department was hired at Monday night’s Township Committee meeting. The new patrolman is James Klesney, township clerk Lora Olsen said.
Originally scheduled for Oct. 30, the meeting was postponed until Monday night due to Hurricane Sandy.
A proposed ordinance that would amend the chapter of the township building code that pertains to engineering inspection fees was introduced Monday, Ms. Olsen said. The measure is expected to scheduled for a public hearing and adoption vote at the Committee’s Nov.28 meeting.
Also introduced was a proposed ordinance that would amend the portion of the township building code that covers a checklist for land development applications. Checklists are made up of aspects of development proposals that made be dealt with to the satisfaction of municipal construction officials.
A third proposed ordinance covers other fees the municipality charges under its building code.
The above two measures are expected to be scheduled for public hearings and adoption votes on Nov. 28.
A rabies clinic for township pet owners will be held at the township’s Public Works facility, on Mt. Airy-Harbourton Road, from 1-3 p.m. on Nov.10.
Also on Nov. 10, officials said, Hunterdon County will collect hazardous waste items, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the county complex on state Route 12.
PSE&G is continuing its job of trimming of trees along easement lines in the Branchburg and Roseland areas. This work is expected to continue into next year.
Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L), the other electric company that has many thousands of customers in the Delaware Valley area, is continuing aerial inspections of its West Amwell facilities. The inspections were scheduled to get under way Sept. 24.
