BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP: Event set to honor vets

   Bordentown Township is hosting its annual Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Bordentown Cemetery on Crosswicks Road.
   The ceremony will begin with the entrance of the official party. The agenda includes a wreath-laying ceremony with many veterans organizations presenting wreaths. A rifle salute will be performed by the VVA Chapter 899.
   There will be brief comments from Sen. Diane Allen. The keynote speaker will be Col. Walter Alvardo. Many dignitaries will be in attendance.
   There will be a few presentations to key people during the ceremony as well as a performance from the “voices of remembrances” that will recite five historical documents. The choir, ecumenical multi-church choir directed by Hobart W. Spears III will perform three songs during the ceremony.
   The Rev. Jay Rambo, of the First Baptist Church, will give the benediction and invocation. The 3rd Regiment Infantry National Guard from Pennsylvania will perform a flag-folding ceremony.
   The lone bugler, retired Army veteran Richard Pinter will be playing taps at the conclusion of the ceremony.
   All veterans, their families and residents are invited to attend the ceremony. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.
