WEST AMWELL: JCP&L Update, Nov. 7, 8:30 p.m.

From Mayor George Fisher

JCP&L has started to repower the township. We have four line crews from Entegrus Powerlines Inc. They are headquartered in Chatham, Ontario near Detroit. They will spend the next few days in the township repairing the circuits that have been damaged.
They started on the evening of Nov.  4 on Rocktown-Lambertville Road at the substation near the Lambertville border. They will repair lines moving toward Rocktown. One of the crews has started work on Route 179 at the Lambertville border. They will work up Route 179 moving toward Ringoes. I am advised by JCP&L that most homes will have power restored by this weekend.
The Township Committee has been working to get line crews into the township since  Oct. 31. JCP&L has said  they repair circuits after a storm that will restore power to the most customers. Since we have a very low population density, we do not get very high priority for line crews.
We have expressed our displeasure with this procedure to JCP&L, our state legislators, the governor’s office and anyone else who would listen. If you are not happy with this process, please write JCP&L, the State Board of Public Utilities, and the governor.
