Mike Banaciski, a 2010 graduate of Hillsborough High School and a junior at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., has been named to the Academic All-District l football team. He is among 16 Ivy Leaguers who will move on for consideration on the Academic All-America Teams, which will be revealed on Thursday, Dec. 6.
Banaciski, a 5-10, 200-pound engineering major, has a 3.48 GPA. He ranks sixth on the team with 32 tackles. The nickelback broke up a pass and forced a fumble in a 35-7 victory over Butler. He recorded a career-high 10 tackles against Penn two weeks later in the Ivy League opener. Considered as one of the team’s hardest-hitting defenders, Banaciski has 76 tackles in his career with seven pass breakups.
Ithaca (N.Y.) College has honored Jessica Walton of Hillsborough for making the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance.
Brittany Weikel of Hillsborough in Somerset County received a Practical Nurse diploma from Dover Business College’s Dover location in Morris County on Oct. 13.
More than 400 students from the Clifton and Dover locations earned diplomas in the fields of health care, business and information technology.
Students who received Practical Nurse diplomas were eligible to attend a pinning ceremony held before commencement.
Anna Isachenko of Manville was inducted in November into the Oracle Honor Society at Ithaca (N.Y.) College. First-year students who maintain a GPA that puts them in the top 10 percent of all students in their school throughout their first full academic year are invited into the society. Isachenko is majoring in business administration with international business concentration.
