HILLSBOROUGH: County senior centers are back open again

    On Tuesday, Nov. 13, all seven Somerset County senior centers were open and serving lunch to clients. Transportation services are now available to all centers.
    The centers’ regular hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    The Hillsborough center is at 339 South Branch Road. Its phone is 908-369-8700.
    The Manville center is in Fire Company No. 1 at 20 South Third Ave. The phone is 908-526-0175.
    A suggested lunch donation of $1.50 is recommended for individuals age 60 and older. The cost of lunch for those younger than age 60 is $5.35. Call 908-369-8700 before 10:30 a.m. the day before to make a lunch reservation.
    Meals on Wheels deliveries are being made. Caregivers are asked to contact the Office on Aging and Disability Services at 1-888-747-1122 if Meals on Wheels recipients have been moved to another facility temporarily.
    Centers will be closed Nov. 22 and 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

    Wed., Nov. 28 — Making snack bags for the troops.
    Fri., Nov. 30 — “The Life & Work of Andy Warhol,” lecture and watercolor postcards workshop. This is an Art of the Masters program by Creative Notions. Registration required.

    Mon., Nov. 19 — Name That Tune with Meredith Krantz, ComForCare.

Topics include medical emergencies, advance directives, end-of-life decisions, ensuring your wishes are carried out, and obtaining and replacing documents in a post 9-11 world.)
