Letter: Generous donations delivered to hurricane victims

From: Georgiana Foti and Marie Stechmann, Robbinsville
To the editor:
On Sunday, Nov. 4, we organized the collection of necessities for Staten Island victims of Hurricane Sandy. The amount of donations we received was overwhelming and we want to express our gratitude to the Robbinsville residents who participated in the collection of food, water, clothing, cleaning products, diapers, toys, blankets, and so much more.
Deliveries were made to the Office of Emergency Management at Father Capodanno Boulevard and Hunter Avenue; the Miller Field Distribution Center; Saint Margaret Mary RC Church; the Salvation Army location on Midland Avenue and the Western Avenue warehouse where the clothing would be sorted and distributed where needed.
We would like to thank the many residents and Robbinsville High School students, as well the people who made available their trucks, vans, SUVs and a bus, that helped us to make these deliveries possible. Your generosity and compassion will not be forgotten in Staten Island.
