The Freehold Area Running Club’s Born to Run 5-mile race through Freehold Borough has been canceled due to Sandy.
The race committee determined that the course is unsafe at this time. Because the race was to benefit the Open Door Food Pantry of Freehold, the club is asking all runners to come on race day, Nov. 23, with nonperishable food items, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., to 10 East Main St., Freehold. Coffee, doughnuts and soda coupons for free pizza will be served.
The first 200 people with donations will receive the famous Born to Run shirt.
For more information on the club’s Open Door Food Pantry Drive, go to farcnj.com.
