North Brunswick is now participating in its leaf recycling program.
Leaf bags are available at The Department of Public Works, 45 Quarry Lane, on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon through Dec. 15. Two bundles of bags will be distributed for each residential address; bring proof of residency to receive the bags.
Residents with trash collection on Tuesdays will have their leaves picked up the weeks of Nov. 12, Dec. 3 and Dec. 24; Thursday trash pick up will have leaf collections during the weeks of Nov. 19, Dec. 10 and Dec. 24; and Friday trash collection will have leaves picked up the weeks of Nov. 26, Dec. 17 and Dec. 24.
Leaves in biodegradable paper bags are deposited at a county facility, allowed to decompose and get turned into mulch, which becomes available to residents of Middlesex County free of charge. Leaf mulch is available, free of charge, on a first come, first served basis at the DPW.
