Mrs. Vavra, 72, of South River, died Oct. 24, 2012, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She served as a committeewoman with the South River Democratic Organization for 25 years. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice Jean Quava. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Vavra; two daughters, Robyn Liscio, and her husband, Michael, of Sayreville, and Lisa Avallon, and her husband, Edward, of Hillsborough; a sister, Faith Williams, of Jackson; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South River. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
