FLORENCE Township police have charged three men in connection with the theft of copper from a local school and vacant residences.
Larry Roberson, 26, of Florence, William Emmons, 23, of Browns Mills and Shondale Woods, 21, of Florence were each charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, according to Police Chief Alvin Scully’s announcement. The men were arrested or served with complaints on Thursday.
Mr. Roberson was taken to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail. Mr. Emmons’ bail was set at $150,000. His complaints were served to him at the Burlington County jail where he was being held on unrelated charges. Mr. Woods’ bail was set at $40,000. His complaints were also served at the jail where he was held on unrelated charges.
The thefts of copper were from the Marcella Duffy School and several vacant residences in the west end of Florence, according to the chief’s statement.
The burglaries and thefts caused damage to plumbing in the buildings and also caused thousands of dollars in damage due to running water and/or leaking fuel tanks where the copper was removed, according to the police
