Sunday November 18, 7:30pm to 9pm
Suzanne Patterson Center, 45 Stockton St (behind Borough Hall), Princeton
Prominent presidential historian Fred Greenstein will be the featured speaker at the PCDO post-election general membership meeting scheduled for Sunday November 18 at 7:30 pm at the Suzanne Patterson Center, 45 Stockton Street, Princeton. Greenstein, a Professor of Politics emeritus at Princeton University, has written extensively on the presidential qualities that have served well and poorly in the Oval Office. His books include The Presidential Difference: Leadership Style from FDR to Barack Obama; The Hidden-Hand Presidency: Eisenhower as Leader; Inventing the Job of President: Leadership Style from George Washington to Andrew Jackson; and How Presidents Test Reality: Decisions on Vietnam, 1954 and 1965.
Greenstein’s talk for the November 18 meeting is titled “Barack Obama: What Makes Him Tick?” The organization invited Greenstein to speak right after the election to consider the prospects for the second term of Obama’s presidency, in light of the history of presidential second terms, Obama’s personality and leadership style, and the unique circumstances of today. "PCDO members will be especially interested in Professor Greenstein’s insights into what kinds of actions we as citizens can take to encourage President Obama to fight for us, even in the face of ongoing political conflict and obstruction" said PCDO President Dan Preston.
The meeting is free and open to the public and the press. A moderated question and answer session will follow the talk.
