A Ewing Township woman was killed when she was struck by a car as she attempted to cross Lawrence Road (Route 206) near Oaklyn Terrace shortly before 6 p.m. Nov. 16, according to police Lt. Mark Ubry.
The victim, 66-year-old Marika Okros, was not in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a 2010 Nissan Altima driven by Anany Levitin, 65, of Burning Tree Lane in Lawrence Township, Lt. Ubry said.
The accident occurred in the northbound lane of Lawrence Road. The driver told police he saw the pedestrian in front of his car, but he could not avoid striking her. She was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where she died.
The accident is still under investigation, Lt. Ubry said.
