Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple
David Broza, international guitarist and singer-songwriter, will make his only scheduled appearance in New Jersey at a gala concert at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, 222 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, on Tuesday, December 25 at 3 p.m. His concerts, musically exciting and dynamic, usually result in standing-room only crowds. Patron and general admission tickets are on sale now.
Praised as an Israeli icon, Broza has won the hearts of audiences with his earthy and expressive voice and solid, virtuosic guitar playing. He performs in Hebrew, Spanish and English, with powerful flamenco rhythms blending with intricate rock-and-roll finger picking. Broza has recorded more than 25 successful albums, many reaching gold and platinum levels. Critics have labeled him “a post-modern Leonard Cohen” and he has been compared to Bruce Springsteen, Gordon Lightfoot and Jackson Browne.
Broza’s concert tours, in addition to the United States, include Belgium, Spain, Argentina, Ecuador, Germany, Venezuela and Mexico. He made broadcasting history in 2007 when David Broza at Masada, his high definition surround sound concert featuring Jackson Browne and Shawn Colvin, aired in a one-hour special on PBS.
A steadfast humanitarian, Broza has worked to spread a message of peace throughout his music. He has devoted substantial attention to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and has earned accolades from critics and societies including Search for Common Ground. Broza was appointed a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF and his song, “Together”, co-written with Ramsey McLean, was the theme song for the UNICEF 50th anniversary celebration in more than 148 countries. His dedication to promoting Israeli-Spanish relations and worldwide tolerance earned Broza a Spanish royal medal of honor from King Juan Carlos I in 2009.
