Basket auction: Doors open at 6 p.m., with auction at 7:30, for the Manville Youth Athletic League event at the VFW at 600 Washington Ave. Ski and golf packages, Rutgers football tickets, dinner certificates, comedy club tickets, entertainment venues, and toy, pet and baby baskets. The event helps fund baseball, football and cheerleading programs for ages 5-14 in the borough. Money goes to uniforms and equipment and to help defray expenses. $15 admission. Library board: The Manville Public Library Advisory Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the library, 100 South 10th Ave.

Parent/teacher conferences: Manville High School will host parents meetings with teachers from 6-8 p.m. Students will be dismissed at 11:52 a.m. To schedule a conference with any teacher, parents should contact the guidance office by Dec. 3 at 908-231-8506 or [email protected].
Christmas sing-along: Regina Novicky & her Grace Notes Group will perform their fifth annual Christmas sing-a-long from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Manville Public Library, 100 South 10th Ave. Ms. Novicky continues the holiday tradition started by her dad, local musician Nicholas J. Novicky, who passed in 2007. All ages welcome. Light refreshments and cookies will be served.

Pearl Harbor Service: Thomas J. Kavanaugh Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2290 and its Ladies Auxiliary will conduct its annual Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at the post, 600 Washington Ave.

Christmas carol singing: The 14th annual Community Christmas Carol Sing at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 34 South Third Ave. Sing along as a band performs traditional carols and contemporary favorites. Tricky tray rescheduled: Manville-Hillsborough BPOE 2119, 1500 Brooks Blvd. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Raffle begins at 7:30. $10 (includes one free sheet of tickets). No one under 18 admitted.
