THERE IS NO ROSE
The Kingston Women’s Chorus, conducted by Heather Robbins, will present its annual offering of holiday music on Sunday, December 9, at 7:00 pm. The program will be held at the Kingston United Methodist Church, 9 Church Street, in historic Kingston Village.
Entitled “There is no Rose,” the concert features music written that honors Mary and her importance to Christendom, and includes medieval music, an arrangement of a Gaelic song, a Maori hymn, and a rollicking West Indian carol. Dotty Westgate will accompany at the piano.
The evening will culminate in the Chorus’ traditional community carol singalong. Even the shyest singers won’t be able to resist raising their voices in celebration of the season!
December 9 is World Choral Day, an international choral event to extol the values of solidarity, peace and understanding. The Kingston Women’s Chorus joins with choruses worldwide to present concerts and events that encourage peace through community singing.
The concert is free and open to the public, though donations will be gratefully accepted. Refreshments will be served.
