Gumdrops, candy, icing, creativity and imagination will be a part of the annual Gingerbread House contest sponsored by the Manville Public Library. The event will help you get into the holiday spirit, make your house smell great and you get a yummy treat.
The contest will be held at the library on South 10th Ave at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12. This year you don’t have to make and bring your own gingerbread houses the library is providing all the supplies to make it right there.
Ruth Bielanski of the library is excited to have the event again.
”We are going to give them the kit and they are going to make it here. Hopefully we can put them on display for about a week or so,” she said.
After you complete your gingerbread house you can enter it into the contest and you may win a prize. Prizes will be awarded in categories of children, teens and family and there will be light refreshments.
”Hopefully we have a good turnout” said Ms. Bielanski.
Limited spaces of 30 are available and reservations are necessary to make sure the library has enough supplies. To reserve a spot to make a gingerbread house call the Manville Public Library at (908) 722-9722 by Dec. 8.
