The Citizens for Independent Living will honor two community volunteers with its highest honor next month.
CIL is an organization that assists disabled adults with transportation, housing, and employment, according to its President, Jessie Parker.
”Our primary goal is to develop a clear direction through the energy and expertise of the late Barry Indik. This award is a tribute to the community and the lives of those who improve the community through service,” said Mrs. Parker.
The Citizens for Independent Living will host their annual dinner dance and award ceremony from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Double Tree Hotel on Route 1 in Monmouth Junction.
Ms. Parker said that Larry and Gilda Gildenberg and Evelyn Catoe are the recipients of this year’s Barry Indik award and will be honored during the banquet.
Tickets for the evening are still available by calling Ms. Parker at 732-355-0620 by Dec. 1.
