Tree-lighting will take place Dec. 2

The Dayton Village Citizen’s Coalition and South Brunswick Garden Club will hold their 10th annual outdoor treelighting celebration on Dec. 2 at 3:45 pm. At this time, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and other children will hang their homemade ornaments on trees at the Slack- Carroll House, 345 Georges Road, Dayton.

At 4 p.m., the festivities will move across the street to the garden and gazebo of La Taverna Restaurant, where Larry Campanella will lead the singing of holiday songs. At 4:40 p.m., Frosty the Snowman will arrive with treats for the children, and at 4:50 p.m., the treelighting countdown will begin.

The celebration will then move back across the street to the First Presbyterian Church Hall for hot chocolate and cookies. The public is invited to attend any or all parts of the festivities. Please bring a nonperishable food item for the South Brunswick Food Pantry.
