BORDENTOWN CITY: ShowCase opens

BORDENTOWN CITY — ShowCase, A Holiday Collective, opened its doors on Black Friday and offers the community a holiday-themed store featuring jewelry, pottery, knits, furniture, home décor, candles and other gift items created by artisans, artists and crafters.
The “pop up” holiday shop at 316 Farnsworth Ave. is the first of its kind in Bordentown. It will remain open through Dec. 31.
ShowCase was launched by three local residents, Marina Echavarria, Cindy Bassett and Roya Alaie.
”We have been eyeing the vacant space in town for many months and finally came up with an idea that truly embraces the spirit of the town and the desire of residents for something different that supports local talent,” Ms. Echavarria said. “It’s also a solution for a vacant space and will enliven the town and bring in visitors just in time for the holidays.”
Pop-up shops are the hottest new trend in real estate and these temporary shops dropped into empty spaces are an attractive solution to vacant storefronts, a ShowCase press release said.
”We are elated to bring the pop up concept to Bordentown and can do so in keeping with our desire to support the community,” Ms. Echavarria stated.
The store will also display furniture for sale and consigned by local residents. Events will be held at the store.
The shop opened in time for Shop Small, the new promotion by American Express that encourages people to patronize small businesses, the release said.
