EDISON — Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred at a New Dover Road residence last week.
The incident occurred around 8:23 p.m. Nov. 26, police said.
The four victims involved were a 56- year-old female, two 25-year-old males and a 24-year-old male, according to police.
When police arrived, one of the victims, a 25-year-old male, was being treated at the firehouse on New Dover Road for head injuries.
He told police that two unknown Hispanic males came into their residence and allegedly told them that they were both sheriff’s officers.
Both suspects were described as wearing hooded sweatshirts and displaying badges; both had semi-automatic handguns on their hips. One suspect was described as having tattoos on his neck, according to police.
The suspects restrained the four victims by zip ties and ransacked the residence. One of the 25-year-old males was pistol-whipped and suffered head injuries.
The 24-year-old male suffered injuries to his face when he tripped and fell as he was fleeing the residence. Police said that at the time, the victim still had his hands bound by the zip ties and could not block his fall. He was transported to JFK Medical Center and was treated for his injuries.
The suspects fled the residence with two cell phones and cash, police said.
