Fri., Dec. 7
   Pearl Harbor service: Thomas J. Kavanaugh Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2290 and its Ladies Auxiliary will conduct its annual Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at the post, 600 Washington Ave.
Thur., Dec. 13
   Library opens late: The Manville Public Library will be closed from 10 a.m. to noon for staff development. The library will open at noon and close at 8 p.m.
   School concert: Manville High School band and choir concert at 7 p.m. Silent auction fundraiser in the lobby at 6:30 p.m.
Sun., Dec. 16
   Christmas carol singing: The 14th annual Community Christmas Carol Sing at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 34 South Third Ave. Sing along as a band performs traditional carols and contemporary favorites. Tues., Jan. 8
   Ethics training: The Manville Board of Education will meet with board attorney David Rubin in closed session at 5:30 p.m. in the Alexander Batcho Media Center.
Sat., Jan. 19
   Tricky tray rescheduled: Manville-Hillsborough BPOE 2119, 1500 Brooks Blvd. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Raffle begins at 7:30. $10 (includes one free sheet of tickets). No one under 18 admitted. Bring five non-perishable food items for the local food pantry and get a free grand prize raffle (limit of 10 items). For tickets call 908-725-1717 or 908-575-9610. Limited tickets will be sold at door.
Jan. 22 and 23
   Kindergarten registration: Signups for next fall will be held at the Weston School on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 22 and 23. Contact the school at 908-231-8500, ext. 8548, to receive a kindergarten packet, which will be mailed home for completion prior to registration. The packet will offer specific information concerning the kindergarten program for the 2013-14 school year. All children attending kindergarten must be five years old on or before Oct. 1, 2013. No exceptions will be made.
