Elzbieta Kurpiewska, 53, of President Avenue was charged with driving under the influence and other charges after she was observed driving in an erratic manner on the Lawrenceville-Pennington Road at 1:01 p.m. Nov. 30. She was released to her sister’s custody.
A catalytic converter, valued at $300, was stolen from a Ford Econoline van belonging to Ideal Tile while it was parked outside the store on Brunswick Pike between 6 p.m. Nov. 29 and 9:30 a.m. Nov. 30.
A Trenton woman reported the theft of $400 in cash from her wallet after she left it in the women’s restroom at the Burlington Coat Factory at the Lawrence Shopping Center at 6:50 p.m. Nov. 29.
An iPad mini, valued at $329, was stolen from an unlocked apartment on Town Court North between 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 28. Nothing else was reported missing.
A burglar tried unsuccessfully to enter a Temple Terrace home, sometime between noon Nov. 5 and 5 p.m. Nov. 27, but nothing was reported missing. The burglar smashed a basement window to get inside, but apparently did not gain access to the rest of the house.
Someone used a tire iron to smash the windshield and driver’s side window on a 2007 Toyota sedan while it was parked in its owner’s driveway on Princeton Pike at 11:40 p.m. Nov. 26.
A Trenton resident reported the theft of $290 from the center console of his 2010 Subaru while it was parked in the lot outside the Olive Garden restaurant at the Mercer Mall between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 26. There were no signs of forced entry.
Catherine Cowell, 46, of Hamilton, was charged with shoplifting and criminal mischief for taking a man’s leather jacket, valued at $795, and damaging it as she tried to remove a security sensor on the jacket at Lord & Taylor at 5:48 p.m. Nov. 26. She was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center in lieu of $5,000 bail on outstanding warrants.
