Lynn, Onderko
are thanked
for their work
Monday night was the last Borough Council meeting for two Republicans who will not be returning to the council in 2013.
Council President Sherri Lynn chose not to run for another term, and Councilman Richard Onderko lost his re-election bid in November.
Ms. Lynn told the public, “I would like to thank everyone that I have interacted with over the last three years. Whether we have agreed or not, I have certainly learned something from each and every one of you. It has been awesome to serve this little community that we call home.”
Councilman Onderko also said it was “a pleasure to serve all of the residents of my hometown. I am very passionate about the flood issue that you can imagine. We are going to get that thing resolved, and I hope that I live long enough to see it.”
Mayor Angelo Corradino thanked both members.
”It is not easy sitting in these seats making decisions for 10,000 people and hearing the arguments week after week, after week,” the mayor said. “It takes an effort and dedication to the community, and both of them have it. I want to thank them for their service to this town.”
During the public portion, a few residents thanked Mr. Onderko for his service and dedication, especially on the flooding issue. Ms. Lynn also was thanked for her work and for setting up an animal shelter during Hurricane Irene in August 2011.
After the meeting, both were personally thanked with words of gratitude and handshakes by many.
