Community Christian Choir holiday performance set for Dec. 14
ROBBINSVILLE — The Community Christian Choir will bring an inspirational reminder of the power of a new beginning with its Christmas program, “Hope For A Broken World” on Friday (Dec. 14) at St. Gregory the Great Church.
With songs such as “One Child Can Change the World” sung by the children’s choirs and “Hope of the World” featuring the adult choir and a talented ladies trio, the CCC’s program celebrates the theme of hope and renewal through the Christmas story. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and is the CCC’s final holiday performance.
The CCC is a nonprofit, ecumenical choir with vocalists from more than 47 area churches. Almost a dozen youngsters age 11 to 13 from Allentown, Robbinsville and East Windsor sing in the youth choir including: Mia Andahazy, Madeline Carroll, Brianna Davison, Devon DiComo, Taylor Eisenberg, Bridget Gooley, Kylee Gooley, Mary Kay Hannon, Jamie Lennon, Jordan Polefka, and Josh Samuel.
The CCC program features lively, multi-cultural music, such as “Bidi Bom”; meaningful contemporary music by Christian artists such as Michael W. Smith and Kutless, as well as beautiful traditional carols with refreshing harmonies. The program also features a grand finale of Handel’s familiar “Hallelujah Chorus,” when audience members are welcome to sing with the adult and teen choirs.
”Our audience members tell us how much they look forward to our Christmas concert series each year,” said Patricia Weitz, CCC director. “Many remark that, amid the craziness of our culture, the CCC program helps them focus on the life-changing truth of the season.”
St. Gregory the Great Church is located at 4620 Nottingham Way in Hamilton Square. The concert is free, but donations to support the nonprofit Mount Carmel Guild will be gratefully accepted. The Mount Carmel Guild, based in Trenton, provides food and emergency assistance to families in need.
Over the past six years, the CCC has raised and donated more than $168,500 to area charities through its benefit concerts.
