   The Windy Farm Alpaca Open House Weekend will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, and Sunday, Dec. 16. The event is open to the public and will be held rain, snow or shine. The Windy Farm Alpaca is located 61 White Pine Rd., Chesterfield. Alpaca products will be for sale including sweaters, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, socks, purses, throws, rugs and more.
    The farm is open by appointment year round. In 2013, there will be a Spring Farm Open House on April 6 and April 7.

   The Union Fire Company Annual Santa Run will be held Sunday, Dec. 16.
   The Santa Run is tentatively scheduled to begin at noon.
   Visit the Union Fire Company website, www.crosswicksfire.org, and click the link 2012 Santa Run to view Santa’s route. To contact a member of the fire department on Dec. 16, you can dial 609-616-2601. You can use this number to check Santa’s status in the town, however keep in mind that they still may not be able to provide a foolproof estimated time of arrival for Santa.

   The Chesterfield Township Emergency Squad Drill Night will be held 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17 at the Chesterfield Township Emergency Squad Building.

   The Crosswicks Friends Meeting Craft Night will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the First Day School, located on the grounds of the Meeting House in Crosswicks.
   This free event is an opportunity to come together to share conversation and fellowship while working on one’s own craft projects such as sewing, quilting, spinning and scrapbooking.
   Bring whatever craft you are working on or if you are new to crafting usually there is someone to assist. All are welcome to attend.

   The Board of Fire Commissioners District No. 1 Chesterfield meeting will be held 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Crosswicks Firehouse.

   The Crosswicks Friends Annual Christmas Candlelight Service will be held 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 23 at the Crosswicks Friends Meetinghouse on Front Street in Crosswicks. Join in with family and friends for a quiet moment before Christmas. Enjoy songs of praise with the familiar Bible story of the birth of Christ as joyous music of Christmas fills the candlelit Meetinghouse.
   All are welcome, wrapped gifts for needy children and contributions are welcome. Since the service is in candlelight, don’t forget to bring a flashlight.

   The Chesterfield Township Environmental Commission is participating in a recycling program for inkjet cartridges and cell phones.
   These items will be recycled into usable products.
   The commission receives credits for each cartridge and cell phone. The commission will use the credits towards reforestation, protection of natural resources and ecological education for residents.
   Collection boxes are at the Crosswicks Library and the Chesterfield Township municipal office.

   The Crosswicks Community Association, under the leadership and guidance of Russell Caldwell, is assembling, cataloging and preserving historical records.
   Mr. Caldwell has reviewed the current collection and determined its records are scant from the World War II years and from the 1950s through 1990s.
   The association is asking community members involved in the organization during these times to donate records, including minutes, receipts, programs and so forth.
