POLICE BLOTTER: Week of Dec. 14

East Windsor
   Joseph Goldy, 36, of Pemberton, was charged with aggravated assault at Walmart last week.
   Police said a detective was in the Walmart store on an unrelated matter when he was approached by store personnel who advised that they were watching a suspected shoplifter and requested the detective’s assistance 3 p.m. Dec. 6.
   Mr. Goldy was observed leaving the store with items not purchased resulting in a store employee calling out for him to stop, according to police. He refused and the detective identified himself and directed Mr. Goldy to halt, at which time he fled on foot.
   According to police, when the detective caught up to Mr. Goldy a fight ensured. Police said Mr. Goldy struck the detective in the head with his fist and continued to fight until he was arrested.
   The items in the shopping cart were valued at $192.88 and were returned to the store.
   Mr. Goldy was later released pending court action. In addition to aggravated assault, he was charged with resisting arrest, shoplifting and obstructing justice.
   Officers responded to the Days Inn for a report of an individual who had committed a lewd act toward an employee 6:12 p.m. Dec. 6.
   Hotel personnel reported that the employee was in the laundry room when she observed a Caucasian man, in his early twenties, who exposed himself to the woman. He then left the area, police said.
   He unknown assailant was described as being 5-foot 6-inches tall with black hair wearing black pants and shirt.
   Police said the man committed the lewd act while standing in the doorway to the laundry room.
   Police said between 6 a.m. and noon Dec. 7, a complainant reported that her vehicle, parked in the lot on Farrington Place, had all four tires and wheels stolen. The vehicle was found on concrete blocks. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $2,500.
   The incident is under investigation.
   At 10:54 p.m. Dec. 7, an officer responded to the Wawa parking lot for a report of an intoxicated individual attempting to drive from the area, police said. The vehicle was identified to the officer by a witness and the officer found it running, with the driver, Gary Evers, 39, of Windsor Regency, behind the wheel.
   Police said Mr. Evers was found to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage and slurred speech. He was given field sobriety tests and charged with driving while intoxicated.
   Additionally, Mr. Evers was charged with careless driving and reckless driving.
   He was later released pending court action.
   Police said an officer responded to Windsor Perrineville Road at Old York Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident 1:29 p.m. Dec. 8. Upon arrival, it was determined that the vehicle of Daphne Conklin, 41, of Cedarville Road, had struck another vehicle from behind at the traffic signal.
   There were no injuries reported.
   According to police, Ms. Conklin was found to have taken several prescription narcotics and was given field sobriety tests. She charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving and under the influence of narcotics. Ms. Conklin was later released pending court action.
Hightstown
   At 11:38 p.m. Dec. 6 on East Ward Street, officers charged Jeffrey Boyer, 49, of Somers Point, and with driving while suspended, driving while suspended in a school zone, reckless driving, and careless driving.
   Police said an officer observed the driver, Mr. Boyer, operating the vehicle in an erratic manner and subsequently stopped the vehicle.
   Police said Mr. Boyer had signs of intoxication, was given field sobriety tests and was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated.
   He was later released to a friend with pending court action.
   At 4:30 a.m. Dec. 7, officers responded to Mill Run West on a reported theft. The victim, upon walking outside from a residence, observed the vehicle on blocks with the tires and rims removed.
   The total value of the loss was approximately $3,600, police said.

   Officers charged Qwanza Harper, 20, of Madison Drive, East Windsor, with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, possession of a prescription legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, and failure to signal on Stockton Street 11:56 p.m. Dec. 8.
   Police said Mr. Harper was stopped for various motor vehicle infractions and exhibited signs of intoxication. He was given field sobriety tests and was subsequently charged with driving while intoxication. Mr. Harper was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a prescription pill not in a valid container.
   Mr. Harper was later released to a family member with pending court action.
   At 4:51 a.m. Dec. 10, an officer responded to Mill Run East on a report of a burglary and theft from a motor vehicle, police said. The victim reported that an unknown person entered the vehicle and removed an I-Pod valued at $200. There were no signs of forced entry and it was reported that the vehicle had been left unsecured.

   Between 9 p.m. Dec. 9 and 7:53 a.m. Dec. 10 officers responded to Manlove Avenue and took a report regarding a burglary and theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person entered the vehicle and removed 11 gift cards with a total value of approximately $400. Police said there were no signs of forced entry and the vehicle was reported to have been left unsecured.

   Between 4 p.m. Dec. 9 and 7:53 a.m. Dec. 10 officers responded to Manlove Avenue and took a report regarding a burglary and theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had entered the vehicle and removed a GPS system of unknown value, police said. There were no signs of forced entry and the victim reported that the vehicle was left unsecured.

   Between 10 p.m. Dec. 9 and 6:45 a.m. Dec. 10 officers took a report of a burglary and theft from a motor vehicle that occurred on Dennis Court. The victim reported that an unknown person entered the vehicle and removed a set of keys of unknown value, police said, adding that there were no signs of forced entry and the victim did not recall if the vehicle was left unlocked.
