Westminster Conservatory presents "Romantic Gems Extravaganza", a benefit concert on January 5.
 
Westminster Conservatory of Music will present "Romantic Gems Extravaganza," a benefit concert on Saturday, January 5, at 5 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton. A reception will take place after the concert in Thayer Lounge. Admission is free, however, donations are invited. Proceeds from the concert benefit the Dr. H. Korkina Scholarship Fund for dedicated Westminster Conservatory students.
The program will include concerti, solo and chamber works by Schumann, Brahms, Schubert, Grieg, Mendelssohn, Beethoven and others, performed by the students of Westminster Conservatory piano faculty member Larissa Korkina. Performing will be Darya Tahvildar-Zadeh, an eighth grader at Princeton Charter School; 12-year old Dallas Noble, a scholarship student at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia; Ryan Zhang, an eighth grader at Community Middle School in Plainsboro; Jeffrey Yu; Anna Joselle Lomboy, a junior at South Brunswick High School; and Alex Ge. All of the artists have won numerous awards and have performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Center, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Concert Hall and the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Guest artists include Julian Edgren from Princeton University, Farshad Tahvildar-Zadeh, from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Andrew Sun from New York University.
