Carols, candles
on Christmas Eve
Mon., Dec. 24 — Christmas Eve worship services at Clover Hill Reformed Church, 890 Amwell Road, will be held at 5 and 7:30 p.m. to celebrate the coming of the Christ child with carols and candles. The Rev. John William Cherry’s sermon will be entitled “Meeting our Hopes and Fears,” based upon St. Luke 2:12.
Fire company host
New Year’s bash
Monday, Dec. 31 — Hillsborough Fire Company No. 3 holds its annual New Year’s Eve Bash, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour. Dancing to Marathon Music DJ. $85 per person for the public and $75 for police, fire and emergency services personnel.
Cost includes an open bar, buffet dinner with prime rib carving station, midnight champagne toast, door prizes, party hats and noise makers. Watch the ball drop on three TVs.

Thurs., Jan. 3 — Newly elected Township Committee members Carl Suraci and Greg Burchette will be sworn in at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Biondi township complex on South Branch Road. Other professional and volunteers’ appointments are made. Refreshments follow in multi-purpose room.

of trip to Holland
Thurs., Jan. 24 — The Neshanic Garden Club will hold its regular monthly meeting at 9:45 a.m. at the Station House on Olive Street in Neshanic Station. At 11, club members will showcase their April trip, led by Master Gardener Marylin Hulme and landscape architect Mary Kay Muckenhoupt, to Holland. Bring a bag lunch and lug your mug; dessert and beverage only will be served at noon. Prospective members are encouraged to attend. Alzheimer’s support group — The Alzheimer’s Association has a support group in Hillsborough. Family members and caregivers come together to share information and support in a safe, confidential atmosphere.
Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the sunroom at Emeritus Senior Living, 60 Auten Road. Call 431-1300 if attending.
Divorce support group — A non-denominational support group to help separated and divorced people to a new beginning. The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 7-8:30 p.m., at Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, Route 206 at Homestead Road. 908-295-6740.
