HIGHTSTOWN: Police: Stay alert

The Hightstown Borough Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in thwarting crimes, and is providing safety tips for residents, according to a Dec. 17 press release.
A rash of vehicle burglaries and suspicious incidents, to include a residential and a commercial burglary have occurred in the past week — throughout the borough, police said.
The Hightstown Borough Police Department is urging residents to be proactive in locking their car doors and their residences, to utilize alarms if your vehicle or home is equipped with such, and to keep valuables out of clear sight.
The Police Department is also requesting residents to report all suspicious incidents and sounds to the police at the time they occur, such as dogs barking excessively, glass breaking, alarms sounding, and anything out of the norm.
As a result of these incidents, the Police Department has increased patrols in the area with a proactive unit patrolling the area.
In an event of an emergency or an incident in progress, citizens should dial 911; for non-emergency matters or any person with information regarding these incidents, the Hightstown Borough Police Department may be contacted at 609-448-1234.
