POLICE BLOTTER: Week of Dec. 20, 2012

Robbinsville    Derek Leighton, 26, and Courtney Scheppers, 30, both of Toms River, were charged with drug and other offenses after being stopped Dec. 12 at 12:22 p.m. on I-95.
   Patrolman Scott Kivet stopped the vehicle because of an unsafe lane change, police said. The patrolman saw evidence that narcotics were present, and during a search, found a small quantity of heroin, a hypodermic needle and a switchblade.
   Mr. Leighton was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle and possession of a weapon — a switchblade. Ms. Scheppers was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of heroin, having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and making an unsafe lane change.
   Both were released without bail.
   Michael Canzanella, 26, of Clarksburg, New Jersey, was charged with drunken driving Dec. 15 at 2:17 a.m. after being stopped on Route 130.
   Patrolman Adrian Markowski saw a vehicle going north on Route 130 with the driver failing to maintain a lane.
   Mr. Canzanella also was charged with reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane and failure to signal a turn and released without bail.
   Garrett Braddock, 19, of Hamilton was charged with various drug offenses Dec. 16 at 1:23 a.m.
   Patrolman Markowski saw Mr. Braddock fail to stop while turning from the Sharon Road cut-through to the Robbinsville bypass, police said.
   He saw evidence of narcotics and searched the vehicle, finding a small quantity of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia, police said.
   Mr. Braddock was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign and having a front view obstruction and was released without bail.
