LAMBERTVILLE: Fisherman’s Mark is festival beneficiary

LAMBERTVILLE — Fisherman’s Mark will be a beneficiary again in 2013 of the Lambertville-New Hope Winter Festival, which will run from Jan. 24-27.
More than $1,800 was raised for Fisherman’s Mark at the 2012 festival.
”In addition to Fisherman’s Mark receiving much-needed proceeds from the festival, the Winter Festival committee will be placing donation canisters for non-perishable food at each of our major events,” a festival spokesman said.
”The shorter, colder days of winter bring added stress to families struggling to put meals on their table,” said the spokesman.
”Over the past several months, the Fisherman’s Mark Food Pantry has seen increased usage, with over 1,200 adults and children served in October alone.
” Each month since July has seen over 40 new clients come to Fisherman’s Mark seeking assistance.
” In addition, through their community outreach and volunteer programs, Fisherman’s Mark is working to reach those that may not have a need for direct social services, but are looking for opportunities to impact their community directly,” said the spokesman.
Financial contributions to Fisherman’s Mark can be made on the Winter Festival website www.winterfestival.net/fishermansmark.html.
Fisherman’s Mark, 89 N. Main St., Lambertville, has been helping area families since 1980.
Its seven programs are: Fisherman’s Mark Food Pantry; Case Management; Information Resource & Referral; Community Outreach; Lambertville Academy; Volunteerism; and Los Puentes.
