HILLSBOROUGH: Police blotter, issue of Jan. 3

Three people were taken to the hospital following a head-on collision on Amwell Road at about 5:44 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.
Police said an investigation showed a westbound 2007 Ford driven by Carol Zdan, 57, of Hillsborough crossed over the double-yellow line and collided with a Toyota driven by Katherine Hunter, 48, of Hillsborough.
Both drivers and a rear-seat passenger in Ms. Hunter’s vehicle were taken to Somerset Medical Center by the Hillsborough Rescue Squad.
     No summonses were issued.
An 80-year-old Riverside Drive resident died Dec. 23 after he fell into the South Branch of the Raritan River.
Raymond Goodrich apparently had been pruning and cutting trees on his property across the road from his home when he fell down the steep embankment, police said.
Police, fire and rescue squad personnel responded at about 6:57 p.m.
Mr. Goodrich was pronounced dead at the scene by the Somerset MICU and the regional medical examiner, police said.
