LAMBERTVILLE — A contract for installation of sidewalks at City Hall was approved by the Lambertville City Council at its Dec. 27 meeting, Clerk Cindy Ege said.
Under a resolution adopted Dec. 27 meeting, a $5,675 contract with Steve Williamson Home Improvements for the installation of sidewalks at City Hall was approved.
Another resolution passed by council authorized a $700 contract with the firm, Hoisington Engineers, to review and develop specifications for work on a basement wall in city hall.
No action was taken on a proposed resolution to accept or reject bids for setting up a system enabling motorists to pay, by cell phone, for parking meters on the street and in off-street parking lots owned by the city.
Rejected were two bids for work on a drainage project on South Franklin Street.
The council announced that annual parking permits are available to residents who reside on a street with one or more parking meters. The fee for the permit is $45.
The council also noted that proof of rabies registration is required to register a dog or cat for licensing. Those who register after Feb. 28 will have to pay a $25 late fee.
The Dec. 27 meeting was council’s last scheduled session for 2012.
The city’s annual reorganization meeting was set for New Year’s Day. At that meeting, Mayor David Del Vecchio was scheduled to take the oath of office for another term as mayor.
One of the longest-serving mayors in the state, Mr. Del Vecchio has been mayor of Lambertville since 1992.
