West Amwell and Stockton

Zach Rich is mayor of West Amwell Township for 2013.
Tom Molnar is deputy mayor.
Both Republicans, they took the oaths of office for those positions at the township’s annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 2.
George Fisher was mayor last year. Mr. Molnar was mayor in 2011.
At the Jan. 2 reorganization meeting, Mr. Fisher, also a Republican, was sworn in to another three-year term on the three-seat Township Committee.
Running unopposed, Mr. Fisher received 1,015 votes on Election Day, when 1,514 township voters went to the polls.
In West Amwell’s form of municipal government, the mayor and deputy mayor are chosen by the governing body, in this case the Township Committee.
The Township Committee’s next regularly scheduled meeting is Jan. 14. Township offices will be closed Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
ALSO ANNOUNCED during the Jan. 3 meeting were other reorganization sessions.
The township Planning Board will reorganize on Jan. 15. The Zoning Board of Adjustment will reorganize on Jan. 22. The Environmental Commission will reorganize Jan. 10. The Board of Health will reorganize on Jan. 24.
All those meetings will take place at the municipal building at 7:30 p.m.
STOCKTON BOROUGH also held its annual municipal government reorganization meeting at Borough Hall on Jan. 3.
Sworn in to three-year terms on Borough Council were Democrat Aaron Lipsen and Republican Nic Messina.
Mr. Lipsen received 166 votes on Election Day, when 277 borough residents went to the polls. Mr. Messina received 174.
