The South Hunterdon Regional (SHR) High School PTSO is hosting its second annual Open Mic Night on Jan. 18 from 7-9:30 p.m. at the campus on Mt. Airy-Harbourton Road, West Amwell.
For one night only, the SHR High School Commons will be converted into the Eagle’s Nest Coffee House hosting local performers and entertainers. Students and the community at large are invited to attend.
Local rock and bluegrass celebrity, Jeff Kline, will be headlining the evening. All performers (12-112) are welcome to sign-up. The PTSO is encouraging anyone with a drive to share his/her talent with the community to e-mail Nina Cally at [email protected] to sign-up.
The SHR PTSO is accepting singing groups, musical groups as well as lone performers. If you are a joke teller (PG-13 material only), juggler, ventriloquist, dancer, musician or poetry reader, this is your opportunity to exhibit your talent. A piano will be available to use if necessary.
Admission is $5 for everyone. Price of admission includes seating as well as coffee, tea, water, baked goods and sweet treats throughout the evening.
Performers need to come prepared with two or three songs, readings, or acts. Preferred deadline to sign-up to perform is tomorrow (Jan. 11). If time allows, walk-ons will be permitted to perform.
The SHR Parent Teacher Student Organization is a nonprofit organization providing funds for teacher- and student-driven school projects at the middle school and high school levels. The SHR PTSO raises money throughout the year.
The next fundraiser will be on Jan. 26 when the PTSO operates the Winterfest Café located in the St. John’s Jesus School basement during the 2013 New Hope-Lambertville Winterfest celebration.
