JACKSON TOWNSHIP, OCEAN COUNTY – A two-car collision on Interstate 195 left a Cranbury man dead Saturday, according to police.
Carl Henniger, 24, of Cranbury was pronounced dead at the scene of the 10:40 a.m. crash in the westbound lanes of the highway at milepost 23, State Police spokesman Sgt. Adam Grossman said.
According to Sgt. Grossman, Mr. Henniger was traveling east on the four-lane highway when his 1995 Chevrolet Lumina went off the left side of the road, crossed the center median, and then crashed into a 2003 Buick Sentry driven by Jennifer Balka, 22, of Wall.
Mr. Henniger was ejected from his vehicle during the collision and died at the scene, according to Sgt. Grossman.
Ms. Balka was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune and treated for minor injuries, Sgt. Grossman said.
The accident remains under investigation.
