Want to be on a school board or be a member of your governing body?
”School systems and local government are built on a solid foundation of interested and dedicated residents who choose to run for a school board and local government,” said Hunterdon County Clerk Mary Melfi.
So, it’s time for Clerk Melfi’s free workshop, “Running for Local Office,” which will be held from 9 a.m.-noon on Jan. 26 (snow date, Feb. 2) in the Freeholder Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Administration Building, 71 Main St., Flemington.
This workshop will guide attendees through the steps needed for placement on the ballot as a candidate for school board member or local office.
Topics to be covered will include the qualifications required to run for office, how and where to file a petition, campaign finance reports and filing deadlines, she said.
To allow for proper planning or notification in the event of inclement weather, registration is requested by Jan. 18 (tomorrow).
Register your name and a contact phone number where you can be reached with Clerk Melfi at 908-788-1214 (fax 908-782-4068) or email [email protected].
