Har Sinai Tackles Interfaith Issue with a New Twist
HOPEWELL TWP. – On Feb. 2 at 6 p.m., Har Sinai Temple will have a special showing of the award-winning Israeli film “The Bubble” which presents a provocative look at interfaith relationships.
The story involves three young Israelis who share an apartment in Tel Aviv. When one of the Israeli men meets and falls in love with a Palestinian man, the issues that would present natural cause for confrontation drive both the film and the discussion that is sure to follow.
“This movie is too thought-provoking to end without discussion and analysis,” says Har Sinai’s Rabbi Stuart Pollack.
Barry Levy, professor of film and television at Mercer County Community College, will sort out the complexities and put them in perspective after the showing "The Bubble."
This adults-only evening is designed to reveal the underpinnings of contemporary Israeli culture as it delves into the challenges of modern relationships.
A light supper will be served at 6 p.m., followed by the film at 6:30 p.m., and the discussion at 8:30 p.m. The $10 per person cost includes dinner.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling (609) 730-8100.
