POLICE BLOTTER: Week of Jan. 18

East Windsor
   Jackson residents Shanna Biesterfeld, 24, and William Klix, 29, were both charged with shoplifting, obstructing justice and hindering apprehension 5:15 p.m. Jan. 8 at Target.
   Officers responded to the Target store for a report of a woman observed shoplifting by employees. Store personnel advised that Ms. Biesterfeld, was observed cutting merchandise from the original packaging.
   She then placed the items in a bag and left the store. Ms. Biesterfeld was located outside the store by officers and was found to be in possession of four Playstation controllers worth $219.96, police said.
   She was later released pending court action. Her male companion, Mr. Klix, was later discovered to have given a false name, police said. His true identity was later discovered, as well as the fact that he had outstanding warrants and that he had stolen from the same store earlier in the week. He was arrested by Jackson Police on warrants from that jurisdiction and he was served his complaint in the Ocean County Jail.
   Joan Tampellini, 47, of West Windsor was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane on Hickory Corner Road at 10:40 p.m. Jan. 9.
   The officer observed a 2004 Ford traveling west on Hickory Corner Road in an erratic manner. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Ms. Tampellini, was found to have bloodshot, watery eyes and she was swaying side to side, police said. She was given field sobriety tests and charged with DWI. She was later released pending court action.
   The complainant reported that his work van was parked in the Danbury Court lot and it was forcibly entered by removing the door lock between 8 a.m. Dec. 23 and 3:04 p.m. Jan. 10. A Makita radio worth $99 and a Makita drill set worth $230 were stolen, police said.
   Officers responded to the City Streets Café for a report of a fight involving several individuals 7:09 p.m. Jan. 13.
   Brendan Shaw, 28, of Dutch Neck Road was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing justice, criminal mischief and assault
   His brother Brian Shaw Jr., 29, of Dutch Neck Road was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing justice.
   The sons’ 49-year-old parents, Brian Shaw Sr. and Yvanne Shaw, 49, also of Dutch Neck Road, were both charged with annoyance of persons.
   Police said officers found a group of individuals in the parking lot engaged in a dispute and separated the group that evening. Investigation revealed that one of the persons, Brendan Shaw Jr. became involved in an argument inside the bar and walked outside, where he began striking a parked vehicle, causing dents and paint damage estimated at $500.
   The owner of the vehicle, unknown to the suspect, attempted to stop him from damaging his vehicle, at which time the suspect struck the victim in the head with his fist, police said. At this time the suspect’s family exited the bar and began engaging in the dispute, at which point police arrived.
   The victim refused medical attention, police said.
   The suspect had received a cut on his head during the altercation and was belligerent and uncooperative but was eventually transported to Princeton Hospital, police said.
   As police were investigating the incident, the suspect and his brother Brian Shaw Jr. continually interfered with the officers and ambulance crew and Brian Shaw Jr. was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing justice, police said.
   Additionally, the parents of the brothers continued to yell and curse during the incident and were later charged with township ordinances for annoyance of persons, police said.
   Brian Shaw Jr. was charged and later released pending court action. Brendan Shaw was charged while at the hospital and left in the custody of Princeton Hospital. The parents were charged later but not taken into custody, police said.
   Police said a complainant reported that her apartment was entered and a 40 inch Sony Bravia television worth $1,300, another unknown size Sony Bravia television worth $800, and Xbox and five games worth $400, and $320 in cash were stolen at Princeton Arms South 2 between 10:30 p.m. Jan. 11 and 2:30 a.m. Jan. 12. The incident is under investigation.
   Robert Dougherty, 47, of Camden, was charged with fraud at 3 p.m. Jan. 14. Officers responded to the Provident Bank for a report of an individual at the bank attempting to pass a fraudulent check, police said. Officers arrived and located the suspect at a teller window. The check in the amount of $3,622 was confirmed to be fraudulent and Mr. Dougherty was arrested. He was later turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding East Greenwich warrant.
Hightstown
   At 8:21 a.m. Jan. 13 on Manlove Avenue, officers responded to a residence on a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance within a residence, police said
   Upon arrival, officers identified the subject as Jesus Januario, 44, of Townhouse Apartments, Manlove Avenue, he was charged with disorderly conduct. Mr. Januario was processed and held until sober with pending court action, police said.
   At 6:29 p.m. Jan. 14 officers responded to a complaint of a man urinating in public on Stockton Street, police said. Officers were able to locate the person, Clever Jimenez, 41, of Old Millstone Road, East Windsor, a citation for urinating in public. Mr. Jimenez was released at the scene with the summons complaint with pending court action.
