The sixth annual Visiting Nurse Association Health Group Holiday Dinner held Dec. 1 raised nearly $65,000 to benefit the VNA Health Group Hospice Program.
Honored at the event — held at the Spring Lake Golf Club and attended by more than 200 guests — were Frank and Diane Vigilante of Fair Haven.
“Frank and Diane Vigilante are both longtime supporters of VNA Health Group and invaluable members of our community,” Dr. Steven Landers, president and CEO of VNA Health Group, said in a press release. “Frank has helped to guide the organization as a VNA board trustee since 1993 and Diane’s value as a hospice volunteer is immeasurable, providing comfort to so many of our terminally ill patients. We are honored to recognize their contributions to our organization.”
Begun more than 30 years ago, the VNAHG Hospice Program provided care and support to nearly 1,800 patients and families in 2011. Through hospice, a team of nurses, physicians, home health aides, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pastoral care and bereavement counselors work together with volunteers to provide care for the terminally ill and supportive services for their loved ones.
