The Princeton Board of Education will wait a little while longer before considering a proposal from a local group interested in turning the Valley Road School into a community center.
There was some thought the board might take up the proposal at its next meeting Tuesday. But that will not be the case, school board President Timothy Quinn said Thursday. Instead, the next earliest date would March 5, he said.
The Valley Road School-The Adaptive Re-use Committee, made up of alumni and others interested in preserving the school, have formed a nonprofit entity, The Valley Road School Community Center Inc., to raise money to support its efforts.
Members include former township mayor Richard Woodbridge.
