SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Police Blotter Jan. 18, 2013

Driving while intoxicated 
    Alex Santiago, 37, of South Brunswick, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at 12:35 a.m. Jan. 12.
   Santiago’s vehicle, a 2006 Nissan, was headed west on Route 522 when he allegedly crossed over the double yellow lines into the eastbound lanes, according to police.
   Patrolman Matthew Skolsky was in the eastbound lanes in a marked patrol car and reportedly observed Santiago’s actions, police said.
   Mr. Santiago was charged with drunk driving, careless driving, and crossing over a double yellow. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released, police said.
Driving while intoxicated 
    Daniel Guzman, 22, of North Brunswick, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated at 8:02 a.m. Jan. 14 after allegedly crashing his vehicle and fleeing the scene, according to police.
   Mr. Guzman allegedly crashed his 1998 Toyota into the back of a vehicle on Finnegans Lane and Route 1. He then fled the scene but was followed by a witness into the Oakdale Village Mobile Home Park on Route 1, polic3e said.
   Officers located him in the park and determined he had been drinking. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed. Mr. Guzman was issued summonses for careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving while intoxicated, according to police.
Driving while intoxicated 
     Teresa Cupano, 68, of South Brunswick, was arrested and charged with drunk driving at 6:13 p.m. Jan. 15, according to police.
   Officers stopped Cupano in her 1998 Honda after observing her driving on Route 27 near New Road with a cracked windshield, police said.
   Police reports indicated she was drooling and had difficulty finding her documents, had the odor of alcohol on her breath and reportedly admitted to drinking, police said.
   She was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was issued several motor vehicle summonses including driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test, according to police.
