Baseball team hosts
pancake breakfast
   Sun., Feb. 3 — The Hillsborough High School baseball team will hold its annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at the Hillsborough Municipal Building, 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. Tickets at door are $7 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.

on ‘Souper Sunday’
   Sunday, Feb. 3 — Harlingen Reformed Church at 34 West Dutchtown Harlingen Road, Belle Mead, is collecting cans of soup to be delivered to local food banks. Bring donations to the church front porch prior to Feb. 3 or to worship service at 10 a.m. that day. Don’t forget to wear your favorite team’s jersey!    Sun., Feb. 3 — Hillsborough High School’s Robotics team sponsors a fund-raising breakfast of pancakes, sausage and eggs at Applebee’s, 315 Route 206, from 8-10 a.m. For tickets, phone 908-419-7164.

fall’s kindergarten
   Mon. and Tues., Feb. 4 and 5 — Kindergarten registration for the fall will be held in a morning session in each elementary school (times determined by individual schools) and evening sessions in the Board of Education Conference Room in the township Municipal Building for parents who cannot attend the morning session.
   To be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be five years of age on or before Oct. 1, 2013.
’Battle of bands’
boosts debate club
   Tuesday, Feb. 5 — Hillsborough High School Debate Club hosts a Battle of the Bands at 7 p.m. $5 admission. Proceeds benefit the club.

Hospice will hold
dinner dance event
   Sat., Feb. 9 — Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation is holding a Valentine dinner dance from 7 to 11 p.m. at the VFW 600 Washington Ave., Manville.
   The cost for the buffet dinner and night of dancing is $30 a ticket, of which $10 is tax deductible. Tickets are available by contacting the Branchburg office at 908-526-2600 or maryellen.day @cchnet.net.

Band parents group
collects clothing
   Saturday, Feb. 9 — Used clothing collection sponsored by the Hillsborough Band Parents Association. 10 a.m. to noon at the front entrance of Hillsborough High School, 466 Raider Blvd. Also on March 9.

radio-control fly club
   Sunday, Feb. 10 — ATOMS RC’ers radio-controlled flying club will hold its annual swap meet of items such as airplanes, radios, building supplies, etc. from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Hillsborough Municipal Complex to raise funds for field maintenance and youth programs.
Gardeners will hear
about using herbs
   Thursday, Feb. 28 — The Neshanic Garden Club will hear Mary Kay Muckenhoupt talk about the history of herbs and herb gardening in New Jersey at 11 a.m. at the Station House on Olive Street in Neshanic Station. Growing and using herbs in gardens, landscape and kitchen — and what herbs to avoid — will be discussed. Club’s monthly meeting is at 9:45 a.m. Bring a bag lunch and lug your mug; dessert and beverage only will be served at noon. Prospective members are encouraged to attend.
