A toy tractor that was on display on a Van Kirk Road resident’s mailbox was reported stolen between 7:30 p.m. Jan. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 16. The toy tractor, which was valued at $150, had been chained to a piece of concrete.
An Apple iPod and a Garmin GSP, worth a combined $350, were reported stolen from a 2007 Toyota Camry while it was parked outside the Red Lobster restaurant on Brunswick Pike between 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Jan. 16. The thief smashed the front passenger’s side window, causing $250 worth of damage.
Noe Rodriguez Velarde, 31, of Gresham, Ore., was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession or distribution of a hypodermic syringe, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a car and failure to maintain car lamps during a motor vehicle stop on Brunswick Pike at 9:53 p.m. Jan. 13.
During a search of his car, police said they found 26 glassine bags of heroin and two hypodermic syringes in his car that were valued at $260. He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on an outstanding warrant.
