Hightstown
At 8:03 p.m. Jan. 16 officers responded to the 200 block of Mercer Street on a report of criminal mischief, police said. A resident investigating suspicious noises to an adjacent property found several juveniles on the property and chased the subjects away. The resident found that a tire to a vehicle was slashed with an unknown sharp object. A residence in the 100 block of South Street also fell victim to a similar incident.

At 11:22 a.m. Jan. 17 at the Hightstown Borough Police Department, Hightstown resident Andrew Snow, 26, of Deerfield Arms, turned himself into authorities on an active warrant for his arrest, police said A warrant issued by Hightstown Borough Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000 resulted in Mr. Snow’s arrest. Mr. Snow was unable to post bail and was transported to the Mercer County Adult Correction Center in lieu of bail.
At 1:34 p.m. Jan. 17 officers responded to the Hightstown High School on a report of a theft. An investigation of the incident resulted in Kenneth Melendez, 18, of Columbia Avenue, East Windsor, being charged with theft of moveable property, police said. Mr. Melendez was later released on a summons complaint with pending court action.
Just before 6:30 a.m. Jan. 18 on Grape Run Road, officers responded to a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle, police said. An unknown person or persons threw an unidentified object at a passing vehicle causing a window to crack. The damage was estimated at $75. On 1/18/13 at 2:39 p.m. on Mercer Street, Officers charged Corey Ransome, 37, of Penns Grove with contempt of court on Mercer Street at 2:39 p.m. Jan. 18. According to police, he was stopped for a motor vehicle infraction and found to have an outstanding warrant issued by Magnolia Borough Court in the amount of $326. Mr. Ransome was taken into custody and was later released with pending court action.
At 3 a.m. on Sunset Avenue, officers charged George Coyago-Sanchez, 31, of Springcrest Drive, with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, and driving while suspended on Jan. 19. Police said he was stopped by the officer investigating a suspicious incident. He had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and conducted a field sobriety test, which he failed. Mr. Coyago-Sanchez was taken into custody and submitted breath samples that resulted in a reading of 0.18 percent BAC. Mr. Coyago-Sanchez was later released to a friend with pending court action.
At 2:25 a.m. Jan. 20 on North Main Street, officers charged Andrew Stankiewicz, 24, of Edward Drive, East Windsor, with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, and speeding. Police said he was stopped for traveling 38-mph in a 25-mph speed zone and continually crossed the double yellow line. He was stopped and had an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Field sobriety tests were conducted, which he failed and Mr. Stankiewicz was taken into custody. At headquarters breath samples were obtained that resulted in a reading of 0.11 percent BAC. Mr. Stankiewicz was later released with pending court action.
At 2:12 a.m. Jan. 21 on Franklin Street, officers charged Alexandra Serbana, 23, of Gardenview Terrace, East Windsor, with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane, police said. Ms. Serbana was observed driving in a serpentine manner and was stopped. The driver had an odor of an alcoholic beverage and was given sobriety tests, which she failed. Mr. Serbana was taken into custody and submitted breath samples that resulted in a reading of 0.27 percent BAC. The subject was later released with pending court action.
