FLEMINGTON — The Hunterdon County Family Success Center (FSC) has announced the following events and presentations for the weeks of Feb. 4 and 11. All programs will be held at the FSC, located at 3 E. Main St., Flemington.
Monday, Feb. 4 and 11, 9-10 a.m. Walking Club: Weather permitting, the FSC Staff are still walking around the neighborhood on Monday mornings! Come join us!! To join our group, call the FSC at 908-237-0465.
Monday, Feb. 4, 6:30-8:30 p.m. FAFS Training: Foster and Adoptive Family Services (FAFS) Training is open to families with adopted and/or foster children interested in joining the FAFS Support Group.
Tuesday, Feb. 5 and 12, and Thursday, Feb. 7 and 14, from 3-5 p.m. Homework Helpers Program: Student volunteers from Hunterdon Central High School, many of whom are members of the National Honor Society, will be available for kids of all ages who need help with their homework. Tuesday, Feb. 5 and 12, 5-6:30 p.m. Homework Club is available to kids of all ages, in both English and Spanish. During the month of January, children will be given an opportunity to create a Valentine’s Day card which will be sent to soldiers serving abroad for them to send back to their loved one. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 6-8 p.m. Girls Nite In is an empowerment group for girls 12 and older. Call the FSC at 908-237-0465 to register your daughter.
Wednesday, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 6-8 p.m. Strengthening Families:

The interactive parent portion of program teaches tools for setting limits, the value of consequences, and techniques for communicating with your tweens and teens. The interactive youth portion enhances communication skills through games and discussion and gives techniques your kids can use for goal setting and peer pressure. Thursday, Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28, from 3-5 p.m. Translation & Document Assistance:
Spanish to English and English to Spanish; assistance in navigating a system; understanding your child’s report card; navigating Immigration Services and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV); learning who can assist with your taxes.

Friday, Feb. 8, noon-2 p.m. FSO Parents Support Group: Support group for the parents of children or young adults living with mental health challenges. A light lunch will be provided. Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9 and 10, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Photo Shoot Fundraiser. Get a professional family photo for $20. Donations benefit the FSC. Reserve your place now by calling 908-996-4440. Sessions are limited so call early.
Monday, Feb. 11, 5:30 p.m. Hispanic Community Workshop: This one-hour educational workshop is provided to members of the Hispanic community to be eligible for free diapers. Discussions include topics such as parenting issues and nutrition. To register, contact Flor Sanchez at 908-237-0465.
Tuesday, Feb. 5, 6-8 p.m. SAGE Girl: Empowerment Yoga: SAGE Girl will be presenting V-Girl Empowerment Yoga to help girls tap into their inner wisdom and power as part of a global campaign to end violence against women and girls and to honor girls’ leadership and strength. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 5-6 p.m. Sibling Group: A support group for kids who have a sibling who struggles with a mental disorder. This one-hour session is facilitated by Jeff Hunt, LCADC, LPC, and Sue Boer, LPC, of B and H Counseling. The FSC is administered by Hunterdon Prevention Resources (HPR), in collaboration with Hunterdon Helpline, with funding from the New Jersey Department of Children and Families. The mission of the FSC is to provide a welcoming family-friendly environment to all county residents in order to strengthen and empower individuals and families through collaborative family-centered activities, educational workshops, and access to resources to acquire knowledge and skills needed to maintain healthy family relationships.
